I came across an interesting program today, it is a program by the name of “world wide telescope” and it is made by microsoft research labs.
It looks, well very good from what I have seen in the screenshots. I have not had a chance to try it myself yet as it requires .net framework and as you all very well know by now I use linux. However I will try it on the laptop sometime.
What it does is seamlessly weaves together images collected from a number of telescopes (Hubble, Spitzer and the Chandra X-Ray observatory) and puts them into a nice program for you to look out into space from the comfort of your computer.
I look forward to getting my hands on it, and as always let me know what you think of it too, here is a link to their website. http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/
